Soft. Breathable. Versatile. Cotton is one of the most popular fabrics, making up 10% of world crops. However it also uses 25% of the worlds pesticides, insecticides and fertilizers because it is tough on the soil and bugs like it as much as we do. Furthermore, the more chemicals are used, the more the soil deteriorates, the insects adapt, and even more chemicals are needed. These chemicals weaken the structure of the cotton, making it less soft and less durable. Organic cotton not only eliminates toxic chemicals that make farmers sick, but also provides a framework for increasing health and productivity of soil through crop rotation, water management, and natural, safe alternatives to chemical pesticides. The organic cotton we stock is certified by the leading third part certifiers GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OCS (Organic Content Standard) and Fairtrade Organic Cotton.
